Parkinson's Moving Day, Sunday May 6th, San Francisco
Moving Day® is a fun and inspiring fundraising event that will unite families, friends, and communities in the fight against Parkinson’s disease. More than just a walk, Moving Day highlights the Parkinson’s Foundation belief in a better life until we have a cure for PD. It focuses on “movement” and exercise as a symbol of hope and progress because of its essential role in treating the disease. The funds raised by this event help support the Parkinson’s Foundation programs that are vital to the advancement of PD research and outreach at the national and local level. We have been fortunate to receive a grant from the Parkinson’s Foundation to fund our new outreach program: Increasing Education and Resource Opportunities for Caregivers of Parkinson's Patients. Last year, our UCSF Movement Disorders and Neuromodulation Center received a grant from the PF to research the Delivery of Psychiatric Care to Patients with Parkinson’s Disease Using Telemedicine. These grants would not have been possible without the success of Moving Day.
